High Sheriff of Shropshire: Outstanding young citizen 2023

Welcome to the High Sheriff of Shropshire
Outstanding Young Citizen 2023

Welcome to the High Sheriff of Shropshire awards for Outstanding Young Citizens 2023.
I am thrilled to be hosting this year’s event at Telford College on Wednesday 8th March 5pm – 7pm.
This prestigious award has been running for a number of years and has been very successful in giving recognition of excellence and outstanding attitudes and actions to dedicated young people in our County, who go the extra mile as a Young Citizen.
All schools and colleges throughout Shropshire and the Borough of Telford & Wrekin are invited to nominate their young people who fit the criteria for nomination as an outstanding Young Citizen. We do hope that you will be able to select candidates who have made a significant difference to their local community outside of the school curriculum.
Please complete the form below to nominate your young person.
Good luck and best wishes.

Jake has been working hard in his community for a number of years and was pivotal in securing the use of a Youth Building in Pontesbury, where the activity had declined. Jake was unwilling to see the building become under utilised and contacted his local councillors to get support towards seeing the building remain active. Through Jake’s hardwork and determination, Jake recruited a team of volunteers and secured funding from the Local Joint Committee and the Pontesbury Youth Club has been running on a weekly basis ever since.
