This is a one-year access course for Level 3 Aviation, for students interested in a career in aviation or engineering maintenance. Candidates develop and practise the skills to carry out aviation and engineering maintenance tasks on both mechanical and electrical components. This course includes working in engineering, principles of engineering technology, principles of maintenance technology, maintenance of mechanical devices and equipment, principles of electrical and electronics technology, and maintaining electrical equipment and systems. This is a Level 2 Engineering Maintenance qualification delivered by aviation staff with a focus on aircraft mechanical and electrical systems.

Progressing to: Level 3 aviation would be the usual next step, but a Level 3 engineering or general engineering apprenticeship are also suitable options.
