This extends the topics covered in the A level maths course as well as introducing completely standalone topics. It is not necessarily more difficult than the straight A level maths course, but some topics are developed in greater detail. It can be studied for just one year as an AS level or can be taken over two years as a full A level. Some of the optional content includes core mechanics (minor and major) statistics (minor and major) modelling with algorithms, numerical methods, extra pure, or further pure with technology.

5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 including English and maths. Must have at least grade 7 in maths with an average GCSE point score of 6 or higher. Further maths cannot be taken without A level maths. If you do this course you will be committing to 2 full A levels in maths
