Aviation Engineering is especially valuable for learners who work, or want to work, in the aeronautical engineering sector across a range of roles and career routes. The qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the knowledge required for employment and/or career progression in the aeronautical engineering sector.
Within Engineering you’ll get equipped with practical skills in a range of disciplines, including milling, turning, welding and sheet metal work. You will develop skills sought after by employers and contribute to an ever-growing industry.
Aviation student Nathan Capes received an award for his commitment to his course which meant he was presented his certificate by college Principal and CEO Graham Guest.
Nathan showed tremendous resilience, attendance and punctuality to receive his Outstanding Award, he is the first from the aviation department to receive recognition for this and deserves his praise.
As part of the Aviation Engineering course, you’ll have the opportunity to visit RAF Cosford to learn about military aviation.
You’ll participate in RAF challenges, learn about RAF standards and the differences between electrical and non-electrical aviation engineering.
Aviation engineering will give you the opportunity to learn a profession that will quite literally take you around the world.
With all of our courses you’ll be offered work placements at some of the top employers in the country. Engineering students were treated to a day at GKN Sankeys where they saw the large scale engineering they offer.
As a result of the visit, two students were selected after a screen process, to commit to a 100 hour placement to run alongside their studies. These students are learning about CAD, product design and testing.
