About the role

Guide and Inspire Students in Automotive Learning 

  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of automotive professionals! You’ll provide expert instruction across all levels of course delivery, from intervention sessions to hands-on practical workshops, helping students master the skills they need for a successful career in the automotive industry.

Manage Student Behaviour and Promote a Positive Learning Environment

  • Foster an environment of respect, focus, and professionalism by managing student behaviour in alignment with the college’s expectations and Positive Behaviour Policy. Your leadership will encourage a culture of accountability and excellence in the workshop.

Maintain Tools, Equipment & Safety Standards 

  • Take responsibility for the maintenance and stock control of automotive tools and equipment, ensuring that everything is in prime condition for training and practical use. You’ll uphold the highest standards of health and safety, guaranteeing a safe and productive environment for both students and staff in the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support Practical Sessions: Assist lecturers with the set-up and delivery of hands-on automotive activities.
  • Manage Resources: Help with booking and tracking equipment for practical sessions, ensuring everything is ready and available.
  • Stock Control: Oversee stock management, ensuring timely ordering and availability of tools and supplies.
  • Maintain Workshop: Ensure the security, maintenance, and organisation of all workshop tools and equipment.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Uphold health and safety standards in the workshop, ensuring a safe working environment for all
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  • Level 3 teaching qualification e.g. PTLLs or a firm commitment to achieve an Award in Education and Training
  • Level 2 qualification in an Automotive related area, with a developed knowledge of all the trades.

Skills and expertise

  • Professional experience in relevant vocational sector.
  • Experience of stock control.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good IT Skills.
