About the role

We are looking for a teacher of A Level Business Studies and Economics as part of our wider A Level team.

Our ideal candidate will be an inspiring teacher who has a proven record of innovation and a pro-active approach to delivery. You will have also demonstrated an understanding and sensitivity towards the needs of your learners and used this to help them reach their true potential.

You will be teaching your courses independently, but will be part of a dynamic team of fellow professionals, in an environment of support and innovation.

As well as relevant experience, you will be qualified with a Business, Economics, or related degree. You will have, or be willing to work towards, a Level 5 teaching qualification.

You will be joining the A Level department, an area in growth. We are an ambitious department, and we are planning further exciting improvements and development to our provision in the short, medium and long term with a clear vision for the young people of Telford.

Key Responsibilities
  • To deliver high quality teaching across the full range of the department’s A Level Business Studies and Economics provision.
  • Play an active role in the marketing of the College and the department through such activities as open days and through liaison with local employers and schools.
  • Engage in core duties including preparation of inspirational lessons, regular marking and 1-1 feedback meetings with students, monitoring student progress, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.

Qualifications and training

  • Has a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Teaching qualification, or willingness to obtain.

Skills and expertise

  • Ideally has relevant teaching experience within FE.
  • Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
  • Able to communicate effectively with students and peers.
