About the role

We have an exciting vacancy for a Business Programme Manager at Telford College.

As the Business Programme Manager you will manage a “cluster” of programmes in an academic/vocational area and be responsible for moderating and standardising the quality across the range of provision.

You will be a respected exemplary practitioner, displaying very high and consistent standards in the delivery of teaching and learning and will mentor members of course teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a dynamic range of services that contributes to the needs and aspirations of individuals, communities and employer.
  • Maintain and develop a high quality and flexible College workforce.
  • Manage the College resources to provide a foundation for development, growth and quality improvement.
  • Monitor the quality of student learning experience across a cluster of programmes.
  • Liaise with External Verifiers, Standard Moderators relevant to programme areas and monitor all action plans.
  • Assist with the development of an up-to-date relevant and innovative curriculum portfolio.
  • Liaise with Employer Engagement Team to meet the needs of employers and key performance indicators.
  • To track all parts of the learner journey with the Programme area ensuring all learners achieve timely and to their potential.
  • To line manage staff within the Course Teams in the specific Programme Area and to give guidance and support in the improvement of their learning and assessment materials.
  • Provide guidance and support to assessors/tutors, identifying learners at risk of drop out and supporting intervention strategies, including facilitating discussion with employers to support timely achievements within programme area.
  • To contribute to the delivery of Professional Development activities in Course Team, Programme Area and Directorate.
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  • To hold a Certificate in Education or PGCE or equivalent teacher training qualification at Level 4
  • To hold A1/TAQA Assessor and IQA awards.

Skills and expertise

  • To be experienced in leading teams to innovate curriculum and develop teaching, learning and assessment practice.
  • To provide evidence of successful involvement in Departmental or College-wide initiatives or activities.
  • To have successful experience of curriculum development.
