About the role

We have an exciting new vacancy for a Facilitator in our Engineering & Aviation Department.

The Purpose of the role is to:

• Assist in the development and delivery of targeted Engineering & Aviation tuition
workshops to support students in achieving their qualification target grades.

• Work closely with teaching staff to ensure students receive high quality support in
Engineering & Aviation which will lead to outstanding outcomes above sector norms.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  •  Provide targeted academic support to groups ‘at risk’ of not achieving their Engineering &
    Aviation qualifications. Working with selected students in small groups
  • Provide targeted academic support to students at risk of underachieving linked to their
    target grade in the subjects above.
  •  Regularly review and monitor the attendance and progress of learners and follow up as
    required to ensure learners achieve their targets.
  •  To help plan and contribute to Engineering & Aviation tuition workshops
  • To deliver small group tuition workshops
  • Provide temporary lesson cover for Engineering & Aviation as required.
  • Work with teaching staff to provide learning support for individuals and/or small groups of
    learners for Engineering & Aviation sessions as required.
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  •  GCSE Grade A*-C in English or equivalent
  • Higher level Engineering or Aviation qualification (A Level or Degree) or in a relevant subject area

 

Skills and expertise

Experience of supporting young people in an education setting/ classroom or vocational environment desirable
