About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will be responsible for producing timely, accurate and complete financial information as well as taking a senior approach to tasks within the team.

The Management Accountant works closely with colleagues across the College to provide support in financial performance and resolution of financial issues, particularly more so in the absence of the Finance Manager.

This role is ideal for someone within an assertive and enthusiastic approach to their work and stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the annual College budget process and the external audit.
  • Production of monthly budget holder reports and reviewing performance with budget holders.
  • The supervision of the purchase ledger for Telford College to include the provision of coaching and support to stakeholders.
  • Undertake the production of the management accounts and associated reporting for the College, in absence of Finance Manager
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

Hold a qualification in Association of Accounting Technicians and working towards ACCA/CIMA qualification if not already obtained.

Skills and expertise

Up to Speed with Technology This doesn’t just mean accounting and reporting software or MS Excel

Organised with good time management skills

Able to collaborate in order to deliver the information accurately.
