If you can’t physically attend college – or would prefer not to – our distance learning programmes could be just what you’re looking for.

They give you the flexibility to study when, where and how you want, with the added bonus of no course fees.

All we need is your commitment… most courses run for 12 weeks, and you can enrol any time.

And there’s plenty of choice. We currently offer more than 20 different accredited level two programmes of study, including Customer Service, Dementia Care, Counselling Skills and Understanding Safeguarding & Prevent. New courses are being added all the time.

Who can take a distance learning course?

These courses are available to anyone over the age of 19, living in England, who is not enrolled on any other funded course.

You can take as many courses as you wish – but only one at a time.

At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate from the awarding body.

Before you start

There are a few stages that need completing before you can start your distance learning course.

You will need to be available for a telephone screening to ensure you are aware of what is involved and are fully committed – this usually takes around 15 minutes.

An enrolment pack will be posted to you; this will need to be completed and posted back to the college.

A picture of a proof of ID will need emailing or posting back with your forms.

You may also be required to complete an online literacy assessment – this typically takes around 15 minutes.

How do the courses work?

All courses are completed electronically, so you must have access to a tablet, laptop or similar, as paper resources are not available.

Once you have started on the course an assessor will be assigned to you.

Work is submitted and marked, you are given feedback and you are informed if a resubmission is needed.

Your assessor will be able to respond to course content enquiries by email. You do not need to attend college or meet face-to-face with them.

A dedicated email address has been created for all distance learning enquiries – if you have any questions, contact the team using the form below.
