Toni studied Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design and went on to achieve a first class Graphic Design degree at Coventry University.
Toni came back to college to speak to our current Level 3 students about starting her graphic design career.
“I explained the best thing these students can do is to take part in the live briefs and competitions that college arranges, I’m still very much in contact with The Wrekin Arts Society who have funded my professional portfolio and have helped set up my website as a result of what I did at college.”
Niamh studied Level 3 Music. She is now studying Music at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA).
She has had her tracks “Broken Again” and “Fly” featured on BBC Introducing Shropshire.
“I was at a gig when I received an email from the BBC saying my track had been featured, I was over the moon, it felt like my career had started there and then.
“Before I came here I was shy, I never thought I’d be able to perform live in front of people but now I can.”
Work placements - BBC
Telford College media and music students have had the opportunity to complete work experience with BBC.
The students worked on several large projects recording, editing and producing music performances which were later released on BBC social media.
This was a joint venture project between our music and media courses, all students who participated enjoyed the placements and are using their new skills as part of their development.
