Now you see it, now you don’t . . . that was the title of a magical event which Telford College fine arts and design students got the chance to attend.
Professional magician Bertie Pearce delivered a lecture at Wrekin College, sponsored by The Arts Society Wrekin, as part of Wellington Arts Festival.
A group of A level fine art students from the King Street campus, and BTEC art and design students from the Haybridge Road site, were given the chance to attend.
“It was a great informative lecture that all our art students thoroughly enjoyed,” said art and design lecturer Lucia Cunningham.
“The art lecture was an in-depth look at the profound mystery of perception in art. Bertie Pearce is a much loved and well-known national lecturer for The Arts Society, as well being a professional magician.
“His illustrated talk included many fascinating slides and a little bit of magic to demonstrate how artists through the centuries have incorporated optical illusions in their work.”
Telford College will be showcasing its latest range of courses when it opens the doors of the Haybridge Road campus on November 21, from 5pm to 7.30pm. For more details, see
