Catering students host bake off for The Guide Dogs AssociationPublished: December 5, 2017
This week catering students have showcased their skills by preparing tasty treats which raised £93.33 with all proceeds to go to The Guide Dogs Association.
The foundation students prepared a range of cakes in order to raise donations for the worthy cause.
Chef lecturer Sean Harris, who has been working with the group to prepare the cakes, said: “Everyone has worked really well together for this fantastic fund-raising project, the students have really enjoyed it.
“This will form part of the students work experience here, they had to calculate costs and percentages as part of the task.”
Owen Thompson, catering student, added: “We all made a batch of everything, I love the brownies myself and we are getting a really good reputation for our cakes.”
We provide our students with the best experience at college through work experience and enrichment.
Our next open event is on 17 January, come along to see our university-standard facilities including our professional cookery kitchens, indoor and outdoor sports pitches and industry-sponsored engineering classrooms.
