Professional FA futsal coaching for sports studentsPublished: March 16, 2018
Paul Harrison, sports educator from the FA futsal national team, delivered a level one qualification to sports students, focusing on inclusion, team work and development.
The all-day event included practical and theory teaching designed to help students understand the role of a sports coach and why it’s important to encourage fitness within schools and colleges.
Paul coaches the England FA futsal team as well as travelling around the country educating in schools and sports clubs.
Jerome Ffrench, a sports level 2 student, explained: “The day was helping our group learn more about coaching in a wider sense and techniques we will use in our future careers.”
Jerome said: “I can see myself as a leisure centre manager with a coaching job too – I love sports and I am enjoying my course.”
The FA futsal coaching qualification was delivered as part of the college’s successful bid for futsal equipment which came with the opportunity for a professional coach to visit Telford College and to spend the day with students.
