Awards recognition for Outdoor Education students
Outdoor Education students from Telford College have collected a series of awards certificates in recognition of their hard work over the past few months.
The group of 13 first year learners have been presented with their National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) and first aid certificates.
They follow hot on the heels of star awards in kayaking and canoeing, and National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS) recognition.

“It’s been a really successful first year for our group,” said tutor Nikki Cameron-Small.
“All of these certificates and accreditations have been completed as part of their course, but are valuable qualifications for our students to present on their CVs.
“It makes them stand-out candidates when it comes to applying either for a place at university, or their career.”
Student Matt Johnson, 17, from Telford, said: “Gaining the extra qualifications will support my current work at Wellington Leisure Centre, and help with future employment prospects.”
And fellow learner Lydia Cooke, 17, from Shawbirch, said she felt it was an extra bonus to gain national governing body awards during her first year – and is looking forward to adding to her collection on year two.
