RAF Careers team take students on table top exercisePublished: March 22, 2017
Public uniformed Services students had a careers talk with a difference. First came the vital information about joining the RAF and what trade careers were available to them with details of personal benefits available including rates of pay and information about the pension then can accrue.
Next students were virtually dropped into the planning exercise in real-time of a humanitarian disaster response. They had to apply the knowledge of the trade groups in the first part to react to incoming updates via a screen in the room. This table-top scenario helped develop team working skills, application of math and development of logical thought process.
The need for real-time responses brought out skills in the students they may not have realised they had, including taking a lead by one of the quieter ones.
