Shropshire Fire & Rescue service visited Telford College to give students important information on fire prevention.

Becky Castle and Sam Titley are part of the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service Prevention team and they spent the day at Haybridge Road campus talking to groups.

They delivered a fire safety in the home quiz to our personal & social development students, the aim of the session was to raise awareness of fire safety as part of student fire safety week.

Becky Castle said ‘’Sam and I felt the session went really well and we really enjoyed meeting the students. We look forward to the next session and hope the students are just as fun and engaging as today’s’’

Dan Blasczyk, enrichment coordinator at Telford College added ‘’a big part of our enrichment programme this year is to educate students on personal safety and wellbeing. This is done through a wide variety of workshops delivered by external speakers such as the Shropshire Fire and Rescue service Prevention team’’

Students are currently working on projects around fire safety in the home and we are looking forwards to sharing them with the fire service.
