Specialist skills to be showcased at TCAT open eventPublished: March 16, 2017
Telford College of Arts and Technology will be turning the spotlight on a range of key ‘specialist’ skills at an open evening next week.
The event, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm on March 21, will showcase engineering, automotive technology, construction, health, early years, and teacher education courses, as well as a range of apprenticeships.
“Traditional college courses aren’t for everyone,” said TCAT marketing officer Andy Dowdall.
“This open event is for anyone looking to take the alternative route. They will be able to watch demonstrations, meet the tutors and discuss a variety of courses.”
The open event is aimed at young people in years 10, 11, 12 or 13 who are thinking about the kind of professional courses that might suit them best – or adult learners on the lookout for extra qualifications.
Mini demonstrations will be held around the college as part of the event. In the engineering department, for example, level three students will be doing CNC and welding work.
To register for the open event, see www.telfordcollege.ac.uk, or call the college on 01952 642237.
