Students rally to help staff member’s Telford Big Sleep Out challenge, in aid of Man In Place / STAY Telford charity campaign

Telford College students have been creating a cardboard shelter for one of its staff member to take part in Telford’s Big Sleep Out this weekend at Asda Donnington.

Paul Davis, Telford College employee said; “I’m genuinely blown away at the thought and effort our students have put into this project; they took my measurements and have also allowed extra space for more people, it truly is a palace”

“They’ve even put a poster on the ceiling so I’ve got something to look at whilst trying to get to sleep.

“This is all for a good cause, I’m raising money for homeless charities in Telford, you can find more information here https://telfordbigsleepout.org.uk/ if you’re able to, please donate.”

The aim is to raise much needed funds for local charities and enable them to continue with the great work in not just helping homeless people out, but helping them up by providing accommodation and support.

The art design and media group are taught by Penny Wells who was approached by Paul asking if they’d like to be involved in the project.

Student Rhianna Hill added; “It’s been fun working on the cardboard palace, I liked using the magazines as a collage for the walls. The whole group has had some input and we’re proud of it.”

The Big Sleep Out is on Friday 22nd November at Asda Donnington.
