Creative students from Telford College are displaying their work at a spectacular end-of year exhibition.
The Haybridge campus is now showcasing the pick of the projects completed by students this year. It is open to the public from 9am to 4pm until June 29.
Almost 200 pieces of art are included in the ‘Connected’ exhibition, made by 126 students from a range of A level and vocational courses.
It includes a wide variety of both 2D and 3D work, including paint, graphics, drawing, photography, fashion, textiles and animation.
Creative media tutor Joe Adams said: “The students have worked really hard to bring the show together, and it’s great to see them take such pride in their work.
“Having art and photography work displayed from both of our campuses for the first time ever has made for a rich and stunning variety of creative work.”
A team of experts from The Arts Society attended a private view of the exhibition, and gave prizes to 10 of the students.
Level three winner was Emily Jo Frank, with Kyle Bates and Daniel Farmer in second place, and Yasmin Downing third.
In the level two competition, first prize went to Rachel Doswell, followed by Zee Gibson and Trinity Taylor, and the top two in the level one section were Nicole Shoker, and Elise Brittain.
Joe Adams added: “Our creative courses allow students to develop a huge range of exciting creative skills and gain vital industry experience.
“Every year we see how this helps them to pursue employment or higher education in the creative industries, from graphic design studios to movie prop-making departments.
“We would love people to come along to our show and see for themselves the type of work produced, to see if they want to study with us in the future.”
Simon Wilks, who delivers art and design courses at Telford College, said: “This final show demonstrates the outstanding results of our students, and shows how we have fast become the leading arts provision in the county.”
Telford College will be showcasing its creative courses at an open event on June 26, from 5pm to 7.30pm. Register for the event at www.defineyourfuture.co.uk
