Top architect owes his career success to Telford CollegePublished: October 31, 2017
An architect with one of the country’s leading practices says he wouldn’t be where he is today without the support he received from Telford College.
David Austin, who was born in Shrewsbury and raised in Telford, attended the college’s King Street campus to study A levels in fine art and product design.
After progressing to the University of Wolverhampton to gain a degree in Architectural Design and Technology, he is now an architectural technologist with award-winning jmarchitects, which has its head office in Edinburgh and several other offices across the UK.
He said: “My time at college was great. I still talk to quite a lot of people I went to college with, and it really prepared me for university.
“Without the college education, I wouldn’t have been able to get to university and ultimately wouldn’t be where I am now.”
David said: “I went to the King Street campus because they offered the courses I needed to progress.”
