Top tips for cooking up the perfect Christmas dinner will be on the menu at a special festive tutorial session in Telford.
Milly Rees from Little Wenlock will be leading the ‘Let’s Cook Festive’ taster session in the kitchens at Telford College of Arts and Technology on December 5.
Milly, who runs catering company Milly’s Menus, is one of the most recent additions to the team of expert tutors at TCAT’s hospitality and catering school.
She also teaches regularly at the acclaimed Brompton Cookery School near Shrewsbury.
Her half-day taster session, from 10am to 2pm, will include a spotlight on knife skills, so people can ‘chop with good cheer and carve with confidence’.
The cost of the course is ¬£12, to cover ingredients, and Milly says everyone who takes part will be leaving with ‘lots of nice things’.
She said: “I will be explaining how to make perfect sweet shortcrust for delicious mince pies, and flaky pastry for the best sausage rolls.
“We will then move onto smooth sauces and great gravy, and everyone will make twice-baked souffles to impress their family and friends.
“Whether you are a cooking novice or just a bit rusty, the aim of this festive taster is to guide and help you, sharing some top tips along the way.”
Milly is also running a five-week ‘Let’s Cook’ course at TCAT, running from January 16 to February 13.
