A Level Photography

Are you a creative thinker?

You will focus on personal exploration, experimentation and expression, and is given experience of working within different processes and disciplines to produce a portfolio.  Knowledge gained during the year is applied to tasks allowing you to demonstrate your achievements.

You will explore the elements of visual language, awareness of intended audience and how to answer a brief. You will be taught the appropriate use of the camera and a full range of accessories and kit.

You will:

- Work with camera technology, Apple Macs and editing software
-Work on live creative briefs with real business clients 
- Have guest lectures from staff from creative agencies
- Utilise virtual and augmented reality facilities to enhance your learning
- Exhibit at the end of year show

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at grades 9 - 4 including English and maths.

Additional Details

You will be assessed through a number of assignments: coursework, exam and portfolio-based.

You will have access to our £2.5 million Creative Hub with camera, light and sound equipment and editing suites. There’s also creative break out areas for you to inspire your big ideas.

After the course

After the course you can progress onto a higher apprenticeship with Telford College. You can also progress onto a degree course at university or start your career in photography.
