Craig Parlour- Superstar helping with NHS ventilators. Craig is currently working at the Ministry of Defence and worked on the NHS Ventilator project as part of the Government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, he has taken his Functional Skills maths part-time at Telford College. Craig explains how he uses the maths that he has been developing in college as part of his vital job role. “I use division, addition and multiplication when I complete stock checks of the Endotracheal Tubes (ET). I also use perimeter and area to load pallets of stock onto various sizes of trailers and vans. Along with calculating time, because I have to provide an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for stock that has been despatched. The information I calculate must be correct, as it goes to the Cabinet Office.”
