About the role

As part of this role, you will deliver instruction across all levels of course delivery, including intervention sessions and practical activities both inside and outside the construction centre. You will play a key role in managing student behaviour in line with college expectations and the positive behaviour policy, fostering a supportive learning environment. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and controlling stock of tools and equipment, ensuring that health and safety standards are consistently upheld. The role also involves liaising with internal teams, external stakeholders, and various companies to support effective course delivery and student progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide support with practical activity and instruction to groups of level 1, 2 and 3 full time students and apprentices for both inside and outside areas within construction.
  • Work with lecturers to assist with the set-up and delivery of practical sessions for both inside and outside construction areas.
  • Assist lecturing staff with booking in/out of resources and equipment for practical activities for both inside and outside construction areas.
  • Organise effective stock control and ordering as required.
  • Maintenance and security of all workshop areas including all tools and equipment.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with health & safety standards within the area.
  • Assist with various College events such as enrolment, open days and information evenings.
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  • Level 2 qualification in an Construction related area, with a developed knowledge of all the trades.

Skills and expertise

  • Professional experience in relevant vocational sector.
  • Experience of stock control.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines and be able to respond quickly to the varying needs of the service.
