Employer Engagement Manager
What I do: After a decade in the travel industry, I joined the team at Telford College in 2006 as an NVQ assessor, completing a teaching degree in 2013. I now head up the college’s business development and work placement team.
How I can help: I believe in building strong and effective working relationships with stakeholders that are built on honesty, trust and support.
Business Development Manager
What I do: Having worked within the apprenticeship industry for a number of years, I joined Telford College in July 2019 to be part of a new, ambitious team ready to support local businesses.
How I can help: My philosophy is very simple – to listen to the needs of the company I’m working with and give easy and honest advice. I’m there to support every step of the way – from initial interest and lots of questions all the way through to the completion of qualifications.
What I do: One of my targets is to create opportunities and career development for students and local people by enhancing their self-belief and determination. I strive to push students to reach their greatest potential, by making a pathway to success.
How I can help: I completed an apprenticeship myself and found that learning from employers with years of business experience really allowed me to absorb their knowledge and develop my own career. This has given me first-hand experience on the value of learning through an apprenticeship and the benefits it can give to employers and their learners. It has also allowed me to keep bettering my skills and continue to raise the profile of apprenticeship qualifications.
What I do: Being in recruitment for apprenticeships, I act as a go between for companies and apprentices. Most importantly, I am here to help people and companies reach their goals. I believe in being an honest point of contact, for both potential future apprentices and companies.
How I can help: I have always been a big believer in giving people opportunities. Here at Telford College, we give people of all ages the opportunity to reach their career aspirations, along with giving companies the opportunity to take on some future superstar staff!
