About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to take on the role of operationally managing our Digital and professional employer-responsive curriculum. This is a key position focused on ensuring the successful development, delivery, and assessment of high-quality educational programmes that exceed stakeholder expectations.

As the Learner Manager for Digital, you will provide operational leadership to the Digital team, fostering a culture of excellence that supports outstanding achievement and progression for all learners and apprentices across diverse cohorts. You will play a pivotal role in shaping curriculum content, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement to maximise student success.

You will manage curriculum delivery at our  Quad site, ensuring learners are fully supported, enriched, and safe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support a team of teachers to deliver high quality teaching and learning, with an ethos of high expectations of student achievement which results in high achievement rates.
  • Direct and support a team of learning support staff to deliver high quality support for learners to promote equality of opportunity.
  • Support the appropriate Director in the co-ordination of tutorial delivery across the College.
  • To take ownership and responsibility for the performance of the area including student outcomes, experience and safety and the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Implement the College’s teaching, learning and assessment strategy with the aim of improving the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Lead on the performance management of staff members including giving on-going feedback and ensuring timely completion of all appropriate induction, probationary reviews and performance development reviews according to College policies.
  • Lead team meetings that support effective communications, and aid management of student or course operational issues.
  • Ensure that arrangements are in place for the well organised delivery of the curriculum through careful timetabling, staff hours management and room usage and appropriate capital and revenue planning and management.
  • Promoting high expectations and good conduct and encouraging the commitment of staff, leading by example.
  • Developing, managing and maintaining a culture of improvement and excellence within the College.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships promoting an ethos which values, supports and encourages all College staff in the delivery of organisational goals.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of effective communication within the College.
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  1. Vocational/academic qualification linked to the learning area
  2. A recognised teaching qualification
  3. Relevant post graduate qualification (desirable)
  4. A recognised management qualification (desirable)

Skills and expertise

  • Appropriate experience and curriculum knowledge of digital area of study.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the programmes within the learning area
  • Knowledge and experience of the Ofsted inspection process
  • Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and child protection procedures and the ability to Promote and safeguard the welfare of students
  • Experience of leading and managing within a further education setting or other educational setting, delivering successful outcomes and raising attainment within set budgets (desirable)
