About the role

Telford College is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Lecturer to join our Adult Skills team. In this rewarding role, you will deliver high-quality teaching across our Access to Higher Education programmes and our Foundation Degree in Early Years Services. You will play a key role in supporting adult learners as they return to education, helping them to achieve their full potential and progress into further study or employment within the health, education, and childcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and assess high-quality teaching and learning sessions for adult learners.
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning materials in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Support and guide students with their learning, providing constructive feedback and academic support.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining up-to-date records in line with college policies.
  • Contribute to course development, curriculum planning, internal verification, and quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, standardisation activities, and professional development sessions.
  • Promote and embed equality, diversity, and inclusion in all teaching and learning.
  • Uphold and contribute to safeguarding, Prevent, and the wellbeing of all learners.
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  • Relevant vocational qualification or degree in Early Years, Childcare, Education, Health & Social Care, or related field.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).

Skills and expertise

  • Recent experience working in Early Years settings or similar educational environments.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to relate to and inspire adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to complete a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training) if not already held.
