About the course

This one-year course is for students who have an existing Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy and want to take their skills to a higher level. It combines advanced electrical facial treatments a variety of massage disciplines and eyelash extensions, to develop flexible skills for a career in beauty therapy. All students will study anatomy and physiology, health and safety, personal development, planning and promotion of events. Your skills will be developed in our real-life salon working environment at The Retreat, completing practical assessments on members of the public. You will also be expected to complete written assignments and online exams. The course includes facial electrotherapy (including microdermabrasion & microcurrent), body massage, stone therapy, pre-blended aromatherapy, Indian head massage and eyelash extensions. Industry placement is a requirement throughout the course.

A full Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification NVQ or equivalent, plus GCSE grade 4 or above in English and/or maths

Students will have opportunties to attend trips, visits and guest speaker sessions. Students will be expected to work in the commercial salons and reception during salon days

All students will need to arrange and attend work experience – related to beauty therapy.
