COURSE

Develop and practise the skills required for a bricklaying career. Working in our designated construction centre, you will study principles of construction; information and communication; health and safety; producing thin joint masonry and masonry cladding; building solid walling; isolated and attached piers; interpreting working drawings; constructing cavity walling forming masonry structures.

– Cavity walling forming masonry structures
– Interpreting working drawings to set out masonry

Work placement opportunities:
Blockleys Bricks, Michelmersh Bricks
Progressing to: City & Guilds courses, apprenticeships, or Level 3 construction

Aspirational careers: Construction director, building company manager, building inspector
Must complete initial assessment and be working towards Level 1 maths and English.
Must have completed level 1 bricklaying at Telford College or another education establishment
Candidates complete a series of hands-on bricklaying tasks. Each unit also includes a knowledge test
Required Personal Protective Equipment:

Suitable work trousers (black or dark grey)

– Dark coloured polo shirt (black, dark grey or navy)

– Suitable protective footwear
