In April 2021, the Government launched the Level 3 Free Courses for Jobs offer. This policy gives adults without a Level 3 qualification the chance to gain their first level 3 qualification for free. Eligibility for the offer has been expanded so that any adult in England who is earning under the National Living Wage annually (£18,525 in FY2022-23) or are unemployed will also be able to access these free qualifications, even if they already have a Level 3 qualification or higher. The expansion of eligibility for these qualifications will provide vital opportunities for the lowest-paid adults to upskill or retrain to help them access better jobs, improve their wages and increase their chances of being in employment.

It is a mixture of external exams and coursework and is graded pass, merit and distinction.
