About the course

T Levels have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work, further training, or study.

The Education and Early Years T Level enables you to continue your education both academically and practically with 750 hours of work placement with children and young people.

This level 3 qualification can lead to progression to university, further training, an apprenticeship, or employment.

Students will study The Education and Early Years sector from ages 0 to 19

    • How to support children and young people’s education
    • Safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing
    • Understanding and managing behaviour
    • Observing and assessing children and young people
    • Equality and diversity
    • Special educational needs and disability
    • English as an additional language
    • Working with parents, carers and wider families
    • Working with agencies and services that support children, families and carers
    • Reflective practice and other forms of professional development

Careers and progression

Careers such as nursery worker, teacher, teaching assistant, play worker, learning mentor.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above, including maths and English. For the primary school teacher pathway, students will need to achieve grade 4 or above in GCSE science.
