About the course

Students work really hard on this course to learn and demonstrate the skills needed to work with children, balancing coursework alongside placement where they will be assessed on their ability to work with children. Students benefit from a wide variety of placements and opportunities to develop and grow. It’s a hands-on course for hands-on learners with units covering schools and colleges, safeguarding, developing professional relationships, child development, positive behaviour, supporting learning activities, supporting English and maths skills, supporting the use of ICT, health and safety, assessment for learning, and engaging in personal development. For adults, there is also a part-time, one-year Level 2 diploma, or Level 3 diploma, taking 18 months

Level 3 Certificate (16-18 only) ideally a Level 2 in childcare or good experience working with children, a good standard of English and maths and a clean DBS check
