Access to Higher Education: Three career pathways

Access to Higher Education Diplomas are the perfect choice for anyone over the age of 19 looking to go on to study a degree, or university-level course, without any formal qualifications.

You’ll develop the academic skills and techniques you’ll need for your next step – and with three distinct routes on offer, your career pathway is clear. You can choose from the following pathways:

Jeni Knight, winner of the 2019 Telford College ‘Second Time Around’ award

Jeni Knight studied Access to HE in Science and is now studying Forensic Science at university.

She said: “I dreamed of working in forensics, but until recently I thought my age, two children and lack of qualifications would restrict me. Now, I’ve grown in confidence and as a person and am studying Forensic Science at university level.”

Ben Thompson studied Access to HE in Health Professionals and is now studying children’s nursing at Staffordshire University.

He said: “Studying the Access course has been the most important decision of my professional life. I’m now studying children’s nursing at my first-choice uni.”
