Care, compassion and commitment are the core values in our health & social care courses.
Health & social care courses are designed to provide learners with all the practical skills they will need for a wide range of careers, from care assistants and health visitors to midwives, nurses, therapists or nutritionists.
You will get the chance to develop your knowledge of infection control, communication, first aid, moving and handling and core employment skills.
All of our health & social care courses have a strong vocational focus and include many opportunities for work placement with local businesses – providing vital experience in real-life settings.
There are modules which focus on psychology and sociology, anatomy and physiology, equality and diversity, plus care planning, care values, counselling and community health.
You are required to complete a DBS check before beginning a course.

|Access to Higher Education in Social Science & Health Level 3||Health and Social Care, Access||
Essays, tests, research projects, presentations
One year, maximum of 3 days a week
|Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care Level 5||Health and Social Care||Work is assessed continually on an ongoing basis through the course. Deadlines for these assessments will be set at the beginning of each year. Typical methods of assessment include assignments, presentations, examinations and oral discussions.|
|Health & Social Care Level 1||Health and Social Care||You will be assessed through a unit-by-unit approach through a combination of assessment styles, such as leaflets, posters and displays.|
|Health & Social Care Level 2||Health and Social Care||You will be assessed through a unit-by-unit approach in a variety of ways such as leaflets, posters, displays and work placement diaries. The course is 100% coursework marked by your tutors.|
|Health & Social Care Level 3||Health and Social Care||You will be assessed through a unit-by-unit approach with a combination of assessment styles, giving you the opportunity to showcase your skills and apply your knowledge in an appropriate, work-related context. There will be a variety of internally assessed assignments and externally marked controlled assessments.|
|Preparing to work in Adult Care Level 3||Health and Social Care||You will complete first aid and food safety qualifications before going into placement. You will need to have completed 9 units and be successful in your work placement.|
