Our sport studies courses prepare you for careers in sports coaching, the fitness industry, sports development, event organisation, or sport as a business. We have an impressive track record of nurturing young stars into top-level professional sport and in many instances, international recognition too.
If you’re interested in a career in the industry, few colleges in the region can compete with the facilities and expertise offered by us. Studying sport and fitness can take you in many different directions. You can play, coach, or lecture across a wide range of disciplines once you are armed with one of our qualifications.
You get the chance to involve yourself in practical coaching situations, often working with local schools and clubs. On these course you will gain a valuable insight into coaching and training techniques used by top-level experts, as well as a better understanding of the importance of nutrition and exercise.
We also offer a range of girls-only courses, launched in response to a national campaign to halt a decline in the number of females signing up for sport-related programmes and has a brand new link-up with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.
Did you know? Students have access to our sports academy and can represent Telford College in rugby, football, basketball and netball, as well as use of its state-of-the-art indoor sports dome and floodlit 3G pitches.

|A Level Physical Education||7th Form, Sport||Assessment on the AS and A Level in Physical Education is through two external assessed written examinations, one practical performance and a Performance Analysis which includes a Personal Development Programme (PDP) at A level.|

|Sport - Wolverhampton Wanderers FC Level 3||Sport||You demonstrate your learning by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The course will be theory based sessions delivered in the classroom and practical fitness sessions.|
|Sport Level 2||Sport||Students will be continually assessed throughout the year by: Practical demonstration, questioning of underpinning knowledge - either verbal or written, peer assessment and participant, video/photographic evidence and witness statements.|
