Telford Electrification Network Group (TenG)
Thank you for your interest in the new Telford Electrification Network Group (TenG).
TenG has been created to keep businesses connected and networked around upskilling the workforce for the electric revolution.
Working in collaboration with Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), Telford College is committed to supporting employers with their re-skilling, up-skilling and new-skilling needs.
The TenG group seeks to build on the debates kick-started at the Electrification and Sustainability Conference, held at Telford College on June 22nd 2023.
Why get involved? Benefits include:
- A chance to upskill members of your workforce around the benefits which electrification can bring
- Opportunities to help design the college curriculum to ensure it meets your company's skills development needs
- Invitations to more networking events, sharing best practice with like-minded local businesses
- Access to research and promotional materials from our partners including video, audio and presentations
- Chance to add your voice to the lobbying activities with local, regional and national stakeholders
The TenG group will be run jointly by Telford College, and WMG – part of University of Warwick.
There is a real momentum towards reducing the UK’s reliance on traditional fossil fuels.
It currently represents around three-quarters of our energy, with oil and gas used to generate electricity, run factories, vehicles and heat homes.
How do we prepare for the electric revolution? How do we meet the skills challenges that this will bring? And what else must we do if we are to reach our net zero targets?
These are just some of the questions which members of the TenG group will be considering. We’d love you to be part of the debate…
