About the role

Telford College are recruiting for a part time Working Cleaning Supervisor to line manage our team of cleaning assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for planning, co-ordinating and monitoring the quality of work by the cleaning team at Haybridge Road, as well as supporting cleaning staff at The Quad, within the Town Centre.
  • Monitoring rotas for individual cleaning assistants, and delegating areas in a manner that ensures all buildings are cleaned to a high standard, and serviced daily, including all toilets, workshops, and offices.
  • Re-allocating staff to areas of shortage due to absence of other cleaners, to ensure standards are maintained at all times.
  • Monitoring and purchasing of cleaning materials and consumables to ensure adequate stock levels at all times.
  • Co-ordinating and organising deep cleans of all areas at set times of the year, including carpet cleaning, buffering of hard floor surfaces, glazing and all internal surfaces.
  • Monitoring and reporting on condition of cleaning equipment to the Director of Estates, to facilitate repairs and replacements where needed.
  • Carrying out and recording inspections of the premises, reporting any required repairs or maintenance work or health and safety concerns accordingly.
Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  • Basic computer skills for keeping records, ordering and creating rotas accordingly.
  • Willingness to undertake training as required, including COSGG, general health and safety, manual handling.

Skills and expertise

  • Knowledge and/or competencies of health and safety as relevant to the post and a commitment to safeguarding the health and safety of learners and others
  • An understanding of and commitment to diversity and equality of opportunity
  • Previous experience of working as part of a cleaning team, with good working knowledge of relevant commercial and non-commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Previous experience of working within the cleaning industry, in a supervisory role, in a commercial of education setting.
