Our creative students have immersed themselves in culture on a three-day trip to Paris.

Staff and students from the college’s art & design, media and photography courses travelled by coach and ferry for a trip to the French capital.

Learner manager for creative and music, Andy Turner, said: “The trip was the perfect opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in Parisian culture and to see some of the most famous sights and landmarks.

“We wanted to ensure everyone had the chance to take in the locations that we’ve all heard so much about, and to experience the flavours of life in such a dynamic city.

“As Paris is so renowned for its arts and culture, it was the perfect destination for our creative students to learn more about the subjects they’re studying in an iconic place.”

The group visited galleries and landmarks around Paris including The Pompidou Centre, Musee D’Orsay, the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, Montparnasse Tower and The Louvre – the home of the famous Mona Lisa.

“We also enjoyed evening meals around the city and a walk along the River Seine – it really was a jam-packed three days and a fantastic experience for everyone,” said Andy.

Before setting off for Paris, the students had spent time in Telford College’s virtual and augmented reality suite where they were able to use immersive technology to ‘visit’ many of the locations on their itinerary.
