Telford College media students have helped a local cinema with the launch of a new networking group for content creators.

Wellington Orbit is looking to bring together local vloggers, podcasters and movie makers for a chance to meet people with similar interests and share stories, tips and ideas.

Media students Corey Clark and Callum Wiggin, who have been completing work experience at the cinema, produced a video teaser to help promote the launch of the initiative.

The networking group is designed to be a friendly and supportive group for everyone from beginners to semi-professionals, and a chance to ‘break out of the bedroom and meet people with similar interests’.

Organiser and volunteer at Wellington Orbit, Andy Smith, said: “It can be quite lonely making content for the variety of platforms that so many people spend their time on looking for entertainment or information.

“The Creators Network is a chance for people of all ages and experience to chat to others for help, advice and to share ideas.

“We have some incredible talent locally and whatever genre people are creating content for, I’m sure that amongst the group there will be others who share similar interests.”

This first meeting featured Telford-based film maker and podcaster Luke Allen, who worked with Telford College student Alex Yousefi on short film ‘Reduced to Clear’ which premiered at the Orbit.

The next meeting of the group will be on Tuesday February 22, at 7.15pm.
