Today, we held our Remembrance Service in the Sports Dome, thanks to Archie and Craig and all of our Public Uniform Services students.
Cpl Melissa Price is a member of the D Squadron Royal Yeomanry. A former student of Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby, who studied PUS at Telford College with tutor Craig Stockman.

“I joined the reserves in my first year and did my training through the summer holidays. I was a combat medic and have just re-trained as an RAC Crewman. I’ve now been to France, Germany, Kenya, Cyprus and all around the UK.”
Pte Gurcharan Mall is a member of the 2 Mercian B Company. A former student of Telford Priory School, who studied PUS at Telford College with tutor Archie Walkerdine.
“I’ve been on exercise all over the UK and abroad on exercise with the foreign nations to Poland. Most recently, I have just returned from a 6 month training tour in Iraq, training Peshmerga forces.”

First year Public Uniformed Services students Emma Ransome and Ryan James-Nield also participated in today’s service, in uniform as Police Cadets. Emma, who studied at Telford Priory School, wants to join the Royal Navy, whereas Ryan, a former student of Thomas Telford, wants to join the Police. They agreed that the highlight of the PUS course for them is the practical element and that it is very enjoyable and teaches you great discipline, while highlighting the many roles available to them after they finish their studies.
