Work placement opportunities for Telford College students

Adult Social Care Wrekin Housing Group Work Placement Telford College

Telford College students are being offered a series of valuable work placement opportunities with the Wrekin Housing Group as part of a new pilot project.

Interviews are taking place over the next two weeks with students from a wide range of courses, including health and social care, catering, computing, finance, media and marketing.

Luci Woodhall and Harley Brown, from the company, began by speaking to around a dozen students from health and social care courses.

The placements for all the students who are successful in their interviews will start this autumn.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this pilot scheme, working with one of the largest providers in the area,” said Sarah Cadenne de Lannoy, learner manager for health, early years and education.

“We hope this is the beginning of a long working relationship with the company, which will enable us to meet the local need for care services.

“Our health students will be proud to represent Telford College and look forward to growing as a department within the Wrekin Housing Group.”

Jan Lycett, executive director of business solutions at Wrekin, said: “It’s great to be working with Telford College to provide work placements for their students.

“We have opportunities in so many roles from marketing and finance to social care and catering and it’s been great to see so many enthusiastic students coming forward for interviews with us.

“We’re an organisation that makes a difference to people’s lives so it’s important for us to be supporting young people who live in our homes and communities with their studies and onwards to a fulfilling career.”
