Signing in to college computer system for the first time

Once you enrol at Telford College, you will get access to your college IT account.

This give you access to your college Microsoft 365 account for your college email through Outlook, your documents through OneDrive, and class information and resources through Microsoft Teams.

Below is a video example of how to sign in for the first time, preferably before your first day at college – also their is a written step by step below the video.

Step by step instructions

  1. Visit portal.office.com
  2. Enter your college email – your college email address is your student number @telfordcollege.ac.uk (for example a123456@telfordcollege.ac.uk). You can find your student number on the back of your college ID badge. Then click ‘next’.
  3. Enter your college password – the first time you login you will need to use the initial password set for you. Your initial password will be your initials followed by your date of birth. If you were Joe Blogs born on 21st January 2003, your initial password would be jb21/01/2003 then click next.
  4. Update your password – you are now required to set your own password, this must be secure and use three random words, for example ‘moonbookdog’.
  5. Adding additional security information – we require you now to add a mobile number to your Microsoft account to confirm your identity when you login with a security code. Please enter your mobile number, then click next, then enter the code which has been texted to you.
  6. Your now can access your Telford College Microsoft 365 account
