About the course

On our T-Level Craft and Design course, you will undertake an occupational specialism in fashion and textiles. Gain a broad understanding of the industry, in conjunction with a local employer, looking at creative propositions, product development, design processes and techniques. In addition to studying the course at the college, you will undertake a substantial industry placement with a local employer, developing your fashion and textiles skills in the workplace.If you want to enter the world of fabrics or fashion, then this is the course for you.

Gain a broad understanding of the industry, in conjunction with a local employer, looking at creative propositions, product development, design processes and techniques. Whether you want to enter the world of fabrics or fashion, make jewellery or ceramics, this is the course for you. Learn about the creative world and its economy, the companies and individuals who keep the world spinning and how to survive and thrive in an expanding marketplace. Work with the experts in their fields, work on existing pieces or design your own creations as you get first-hand experience of the crafts industry. Understand the cultural influences and the audience you cater for and strive to be remarkable.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 4+ including Art, Maths and English

Additional information

Industry placement (315+ hours) in a fashion/textiles role at a local employer.

Course is assessed through exams, controlled assessments, and employer set projects.

Opportunities for trips to art galleries, fashion shows and international trips such as to Paris.
