About the role

We have an exciting new vacancy arisen in our ever expanding Health & Science Department for Full-Time Industry Placement Coordinator.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in collaboration with the NHS as the college rolls out the new T level provision within health and science.

Due to growth in student numbers and additional pathways within the existing provision, a vacancy has arisen to support the existing lead industry placement co-ordinator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain and develop employer and workplace experiences opportunities and systems for health and science students.
  • Work in conjunction with the lead work experience coordinator and lead industry placement co-ordinator to ensure a high-quality student experience.
  • Liaising with local NHS Trusts, health and social care providers and other colleges to organise student placements and pastoral visits.
  • Working alongside employers to ensure all parties are supported whilst on placement.
  • To work closely with students to identify their work aspirations in order to match them with suitable opportunities.
  • To work on one’s own initiative and support the team’s objectives including to facilitate and enable positive destinations for all the students.
  • To be flexible particularly in dealing with busy employers.
  • Visit and support students in placement as required.
  • Act as a point of contact between the employer, students and health teams ensuring that learners have the correct supervision in placement.

 

Skills, knowledge and expertise

Qualifications and training

  • A-Level or equivalent qualification
  • IAG qualification at level 4 (Desirable)
  • Level 2 qualification (GCSE A* – C, or equivalent) in maths and English or a willingness to attain these qualifications with the support of the College.
  • A car owner with full driving licence, as the post involves visiting employers and students in placement

Skills and expertise

  • Knowledge of safeguarding issues in education
  • Understanding of data protection legislation
  • Experience of providing advice, guidance and/or education to young people and/or adults
  • Experience of working as a member of a team
  • Excellent customer services skills, with a resilient approach to contacting both students and employers
