The Digital and Maths Skills Hub to ignite innovation and career opportunities.

Telford College is set to play a pivotal role in the new hi-tech facilities of Telford’s Station Quarter as it plans to launch exciting new opportunities in the state-of-the-art Skills Hub in the heart of Telford town centre. This multimillion-pound initiative, undertaken in collaboration with Telford & Wrekin Council and key industry partners, marks a significant stride towards the regeneration of the Station Quarter.

The eagerly anticipated project represents an innovative alliance between education and industry, redefining the boundaries of traditional learning. The Skills Hub will house new learning facilities alongside a ‘business incubator space,’ designed to nurture start-ups in the local digital sector.

The College are delighted to be involved in this unique and ambitious project. It signifies an ambitious step towards raising aspirations and creating a bridge between education and modern industry. The Skills Hub is strategically positioned to enhance accessibility to education, offering a range of learning options tailored to meet the demands of the evolving digital landscape. With a focus on digital, IT, and maths skills, the courses will provide a pathway to careers in high-demand sectors such as cybersecurity, AI, robotics, visual and augmented reality, cloud computing, 5G innovation, and more.

The Station Quarter is set to offer an exciting range of learning opportunities for students aged 16-18, as well as part-time programs and apprenticeships, ensuring a flexible and comprehensive approach to learning.

The emphasis on maths and digital courses stems from the understanding that these are critical pathways to higher quality and better-paid career opportunities.
